Town of Terry Receives Canadian Railroad Grant

The Town of Terry has received a $25,000 grant for tree planting and beautification throughout the town. The projects include developing an arboretum at the local park, a community fruit orchard and the Business district landscaping. The Mississippi Urban Forest Council wrote the grant for the town and will help with all aspects of project implementation. Volunteer groups that will also participate in the projects are Byram-Terry Junior Auxiliary, Collis Hill Church Brotherhood, Friends of Terry, Terry Lion’s Club, Terry Planning Committee, Terry Women’s Club, and Terry High School Yellow Jackets Alumni Association. “I am very excited that the Town has received this $25,000 Railroad Grant for tree planting and beautification throughout the Town”, said Mayor Joseph Kendrick, Jr. This will be good for our downtown area and something that…
